2023 has been a whirlwind for Troye Sivan - from his multiple accolades, cosmic role in the popularized show, 'The Idol', and his latest album release "Something To Give Each Another", there's more to on its way for the talented artist.

To promote his album and give fans insight into his latest release, Troye headed onto the Zach Sang Show where he discussed his new album, personal relationships, confidence, and more.

The massive buzz around his album has received worldwide adoration, all while fans declaring that Sivan "saved pop music" through revamping the genre with his unadulterated story, incredible vocals, pure sexiness, and plain old fun. The gift of allowing us to see into his experiences with love, whether it's a swoon-worthy relationship to one night flings, Troye is giving us the raw scoop into his life.

The eccentrics within the album as well as the music videos bring with it a slight ode to the 80s party scene that we seem to be missing in today's music. The elaborate clubby scene, blended with addictive beats makes his album a true gem for 2023.

The first release, "Rush" caused spurts of conversations across the globe for its beautifully constructed music video, which features a mix of breathtaking choreography and complete desirability. It touches on the euphoria of life, celebrating youth, falling in love with yourself, all within a nostalgic theme.

The entirety of the album mirrors the storyline of a breakup, such as the downfalls, pain, and turmoil to the inner realization of the life ahead. Troye not only touches on areas he feels are lacking in the industry but is using the songwriting outlet to process his own separation.

Following the split with his recent partner, Troye felt an urge to provide a sense of candidacy in his music. He took the years between his last release to now to document his life, including the ups, downs, and everything in between. One aspect of the album that Troye was striving to get across is that there's an excitement that follows the breakup, a new open route that allows you to find yourself.

After the successful release of "Rush", Troye followed with "Got Me Started", an outspoken song that emits a sexual confidence & expression. He's bringing back the simplicity and colorful nature of music videos that brings us back to old school MTV. The track sampled the riff from Bag Raiders's "Shooting Stars", which gives off a more 80s & 90s quality that blends the modern music industry with previous eras.

Once the remainder of the album dropped last month, listeners have been at the ready to stream the 8 new tracks. Thus far, the album has hit #1 in Australia, charting on Billboard Hot 100, and comprised of over 300 million streams streams to date.

Altogether, the album included real-life instruments rather than electronically curated ones, which sonically gave each single a richer sound.

One of his biggest hits from the album "One Of Your Girls" discusses the fleeting relationship Troye had with straight men who based their endeavors on their desire for self-exploration. Although this relationship was amicable and set in stone at its first stage, the lingering feelings in the aftermath left Troye feeling like the last option. The music video that followed this release quickly became a viral sensation through its steamy themes, artistic depth, and open conversation regarding sexuality & attraction.

His interview on the Zach Sang Show also discussed one of his favorite songs of the album: "Still Got It", a somber track that discusses the difficulty of seeing a past lover shortly after the separation.

He quotes a lyric that continues to sting his soul: "Got a place back in Australia, it's different than you remember. I think you'd like it, though". He furthers the meaning of the track by explaining how the thought of seeing someone feels easier than the actuality of running into them. You expect it to be superficial and easy to glaze over but instead, the history comes right back to you. Troye feels as though this song will pose as the most difficult when performed live.

The entirety of the album discusses taboo topics that other artists tread lightly over all wrapped up in a candid and clubby track you won't want to take off repeat. There may not be a tour announcement just yet, but be ready to mark your calendar for an upcoming world tour to truly fee the Rush.
