The Glastonbury Festival Highlights

As we reached the close of yet another year of good music from Glastonbury festival, we're at the ready for 2024. From this year's lineup including Elton John, Lana Del Ray, Lewis Capaldi, and more, we all came together for a few days of nostalgia and new tunes.

During it's reign from June 21 - June 25, concert-goers and fans worldwide couldn't help but keep us in the loop on the current happenings in England. Below are some of our favorite moments, highlights, big news, and more.

Glastonbury Festival | Elton John | Mojo | Danny Eccleston

Lana Del Rey's late arrival onstage led to some frustrated listeners in the venue, which had fans take to social media to voice their concerns. Despite her mic being cut and setlist shortened, she still delivered a gorgeous performance and even sung along with the crows to 'Video Games'.

The British singer and composer, Elton John headed to Somerset England for one of his last live shows. Despite the talent he possesses on his own, he shared the stage with artists such as The Killers, Brandon Flowers, and Rina Sawayama. His unmatched energy made for a crowd-roaring performance at 76 years young.

Guns N' Roses will forever be an iconic band whose legacy will continue to reign. They headlined the show this year and were accompanied by Dave Grohl for their hit 'Paradise City'. Between some of their biggest hits, stage presence, and ground-shaking fans, this was a sight to see. The chemistry between one of the most American Hard Rock bands and their love of music was undeniable even after decades of their culmination.

The incredible vocalists of British girl group Flo gave us a fresh taste of new music with their onstage performance. They delivered the R&B we've been searching for all night and after their formation just 5 years ago, their talent continues to sky-rocket, making it a treat to see them hit the stage.

The musical genius that is Jacob Collier was a memorable performance as usual with his raw talent and sheer excitement, making it to take your eyes off the stage. His rendition of Queens 'Somebody To Love' brought a sense of connection and fun to the day through his playful stage presence.

The return of Yusuf, AKA Cat Stevens, blessed the main stage with his unchanged vocals and beautiful melody. His live presence since the late 60s reminded us of the pure talent that is this folk, rock, and pop artist. He gave us fantastic energy, chills, and everything good in the world. From the roaring listeners of young & old, thousands of concert-goers surrounded the stage and delivered the adoration we all have.

Central Cee's presence this year was a breath of fresh air and with his hits the crowd was nothing short of wild. His track 'Doja' was introduced with the original 'Let Me Blow Your Mind' by Eve, which was a treat and quickly transitioned to one of his own. Between his little to no autotune, the surprise guest, Dave, and the overall energy, we can't stop replaying this one.

American singer & songwriter, Candi Staton headed to the 2023 even at 83 and gave us a whole lot of talent, charisma, and magic throughout her entire set. Between showcasing some of her biggest songs including 'You Got The Love, listeners were gifted with this one.

Glastonbury Festival | Rina Sawayama | Rolling Stone | Nick Reilly | Shirlaine Forrest | RedFerns

An incredible show by the one and only Rina Sawayama with her superstar quality voice and energy-filled stage appearance. The ability to fall right into the character of her music is breathtaking, setting her apart from other acts. She even used her platform to call out Matty Healy, lead singer of The 1975 for multiple stereotypical comments made online as well as his ownership of her masters. The open air call outs were enough to spark social media commentary and took over social media.

Wanted another blast from the past? Rick Astley tore the roof off of the Pyramid stage with his endless hits, including 'Never Gonna Give You Up' and 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out'. His incredible performance was perfectly minimalistic, with the inclusion of dancing security guards that gave the crowd the boost they needed. The additional company of Blossoms onstage led us to an unforgettable night.

Talk about a Jaw dropping performance with Lizzo's headlining once again. Her fierce attitude was eminent and you can feel the love she has for her music, fans, and team, which was a privilege to witness. The power within each lyric to the uplifting aura Lizzo illuminates, you can't help but sing along and join her in this ultimate moment.

One of the leading chart-toppers, Lewis Capaldi was a gift at this year's festival. Despite the challenges he experienced onstage due to his Tourette's, causing him to stop performing mid-song, fans lifted him up in a beautiful moment. Concert-goers finished the song for him in a moment of empathy, which was visibly cherished by Capaldi. This performance was one we will all remember as a crucial understanding of being human and reminded us of how music will forever connect us.

With the 5 day festival at a close, we're still replaying these live performances in our heads. The Glastonbury 2024 Festival can't come soon enough.
