Recap Of The 2024 Grammy Awards

Listed as one of the most decorated music industry awards, the Grammys have consistently become a realm of pop culture moments, commemorative performances, record breakers, and good music. As the event places some of the most talented and successful artists across the globe in this year's Los Angeles arena, us viewers & music lovers have the opportunity to sit back and watch history unfold.


Last year, we watched as Beyoncé was crowned as the most decorated artist in Grammy history, Kim Petras was awarded for the single, “Unholy” and become the first trans artist to take home the decorated award, we celebrated the 50 year anniversary of HipHop with performances from industry moguls to newer additions, and more.

In the past 12 months, we’ve seen massive success from multiple bodies of work ranging from Pop to HipHop to Reggae, and more. With the return of Pop Punk music, the culmination of new talent who have taken the industry by storm with their raw and undeniable vocals. We were even given the chance to see some of our all time favorite musicians hit the stage and perform some of their newest music, including Olivia Rodrigo with her punk single "Vampire", Miley Cyrus's "Flowers, and Burna Boy’s "Sittin' on Top of the World". Billie Eilish and Finneas even gifted us with the Golden Globe winning and Oscar nominated song "What Was I Made For? 


Taylor Swift was once again nominated & took home the Album of the Year award for “Midnights”, which titled her as the first artist to do so with 4 wins. Following her receipt of her 13th Grammy, Swift announced her new album “The Tortured Poets Department”, releasing on April 19th. 


She wasn’t the only artist leading the charge as SZA was matched toe to toe with Swift for the chart-topping album “SOS” and in addition to the plethora of attention her album has received, she delivered an incredible performance of “Kill Bill”. 



On the topic of note-worthy live performances, Luke Combs was accompanied by Tracy Chapman for her iconic song “Fast Car”, which marks her first live performance in decades.

The academy also gifted Jay-Z the 2nd Dr. Dre Global Impact Award for over 3 decades of influence on the entire music industry. The accolade was presented by his daughter, Blue Ivy. In addition to commemorating Jay-Z’s influence on multiple genres, Stevie Wonder delivered a stellar performance of Tony Bennett’s “Night and Day” to celebrate the late singer & recording artist.
