The single describes Lizzy’s first relationship, which includes the multiple heavy-hearted break ups within their relationship that effected her deeply. The track ‘ceilings’ from her latest album has sky-rocketed on not only streaming platforms but on social media as well. TikTok has assisted in making the the track viral status through both highlighting the emotionally impactful lyrics & by fans using the bridge of the popular track to get their take on a major social media trend. From this massive stream of newcomer fans, millions of fans far and wide have been loving ‘ceilings’ and even explored further into Five Seconds Flat.
Despite ‘ceilings’ gaining massive popularity through the app, fans are also loving the sped up version of the song perhaps even more than the original, which led listeners to beg Lizzy to release this new version of the song. In the interview, she revealed her feelings about this remixed track and her dislike for it as it could take away the song’s true meaning.
The beauty of her track ‘Reckless Driving’, which features Ben Kessler, perfectly described the feeling of a partner being more emotionally invested in you while you can’t fully reciprocate, causing this relationship imbalance. This personal storytelling hit close to home for her as she sings about a prior relationship where her partner’s feelings were stronger than hers and despite his knowing of the truth, they both continue on until the relationship burns out.
‘Nobody likes a secret’ was the last written song on the album and Lizzy disclosed in the interview that it’s her current favorite on the discography as it’s more of a reflection of her current writing style. The single is a completely raw and honest depiction of Lizzy’s own thoughts and feelings as she spills her inner most dialogue directly to her ex.
The sold out upcoming tour, which begins on April 18th and moves through the US to the UK and some parts of Europe is highly anticipated and fans are on the edge of their seats waiting to hear their favorites from the album and even older hits.
