Halsey's"The Great Impersonator"

Halsey's new addition to her discography, "The Great Impersonator" has been named her most authentic and personable project to date. Amidst her public announcement of current medical issues she's facing, singer & songwriter, she has continued to prevail and curate a unique collection of new music for her 7th debut album.

The entirely solo body of work features 18 original songs inspired by various decades from the 1970s to present date. The first release from her fall drop, "The End", inspired by Amy Lee of Evanescence is an emotionally tolling song whose simplistic sound contrasts the deep meaning behind its story. The song is listed as the final installment on the album, symbolic to the feeling following her recent lupus diagnosis.

"Lucky", the follow up track was inspired by the pop princess herself, Britney Spears and her 2000s hit, "Lucky" from the groundbreaking "Oop!... I Did It Again" album. The accompanying music video was directed by Gia Coppola, the granddaughter of the talented film director, Francis Ford Coppola. The fun yet alarmingly symbolic visualizer features Halsey managing a double life of being both a celebrated singer whilst managing her burdening health issues.

The campaign lead up to The Great Impersonator's official release date of October 25th featured a string of social media posts depicting the singer imitating the inspiration behind each track. Halsey drew her artistry from various musicians, including Cher, David Bowie, Linda Ronstadt, Aaliyah, and Fiona Apple. Each song is a direct representation of an artist in which she pays homage to them for their originality, specific sound, and impact on the music industry.
